1. Deep Tissue Massage Course ...
Deep Tissue Massage involves the application of exact techniques and pressures to make changes to specific tissue layers of the body. It is a versatile form of treatment providing a means of delivering a more effective form of therapy.
The unique Deep Tissue Massage course taught at the school has become famous for its specific attention to practitioner posture, application and technique. The course introduces the practitioner to the theory and practice of Deep Tissue Massage techniques which develop on from foundation diploma courses in massage and/or sports injuries as well as lending its way to "HANDS FREE MASSAGE".
The course is intended to give the practitioner a wider understanding in the therapeutic treatment of patients as well as adding to the arsenal of tools which are available for "SAVING HANDS" during a session.
Deep Tissue Massage techniques can be used in conjunction with many other therapies and the course will explore the many other disciplines in which this can be incorporated.
It is a course qualification which on completion, will allow the practitioner to obtain full professional insurance and gain employment in conjunction with previous massage training.
2. Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage Course ...
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage involves the application of specific light techniques which assist in the movement of lymph, thereby assisting in the decongestion of the lymphatic and circulatory systems.
The Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage course taught at the London School of Massage provides training in the theory and practice of this gentle but highly effective form of massage and develops on from diploma courses in massage and/or sports massage.
The course is intended to give practitioners a wider understanding in the therapeutic treatment of patients where the immune system has been compromised as well as adding to the arsenal of tools which are available for carrying out a Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage treatment, excluding lymphodema.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage techniques can be used in conjunction with many other therapies and the course will explore the many other disciplines in which this can be incorporated.
It is a course qualification which on completion will allow the practitioner to obtain full professional insurance. Please check with your Insurance provider as companies vary on their standards of cover for this therapy.

What will I Learn on the Lymphatic Drainage Massage Course ...
This Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage course will systematically guide the student through the theory and practice of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage. It will allow the smooth and effective integration of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage techniques into their own practice as well as teach a full routine for the whole body.
The following are a list of some of the topics which are covered on the course:
Structure and function of the lymphatic system including lymphocytes, lymph tissue, lymph vessels, lymph nodes, ducts, capillaries, spleen
Main lymph nodes of the body
Overview of the blood vessels of head and neck
Relationship between blood and lymph
History of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Contraindication to Manual Lymphatic Draining Massage treatment
Explanation and demonstration of manual lymphatic drainage massage techniques including the four basic strokes (as well as additional methods), that can be sequenced and applied to any part of the body and incorporated into your massage routine.
We would like to advise that this CPD course endeavors to explore the full benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage in a professional practice. Although practical examples are NOT provided at this non clinical level, we advise potential students that discussion topics include the full body benefits of Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage including female breast health. We will also demonstrate draping techniques that, whilst ensuring the absolute protection of modesty for all concerned, do allow access to the side of the rib cage close to the axillary region.
As it is vital to both practice and receive treatment during the course please be sure you accept the above conditions prior to booking.
CPD Course Prerequisites ...
Students must hold an Ofqual accredited Level 3 Diploma in Massage including Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology - or equivalent, or higher.
Without an accredited Diploma, you may be able to attend the course, but you will not receive an FHT, CThA or IICT accredited certificate. This may affect your ability to obtain professional insurance.
Without an accredited Diploma you may not be able to join the FHT, CMA, IGCT, IICT or other professional body.
When submitting your Student Details form, you must also supply us with copies of your existing accredited qualifications to receive the course certificate. Supplying this information too late may result in your certificate being printed without the FHT, CThA and IICT logos. Additional charges may be incurred to print the correct Certificate.
What does accredited mean?
Accredited qualifications are those that are reviewed, recognised and monitored by regulatory bodies in order to make sure that they meet specific criteria and quality standards.
If you have arrived in the UK from overseas and have existing qualifications, those qualifications may meet an acceptable standard in the UK. NARIC can provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to UK qualifications with a document called a ‘Statement of Comparability’.
You can also request an 'English Language Assessment' document, which may help determine your current level of English.
If you are unsure of your current course qualifications, please call the office to find out if your current qualifications can count towards this diploma. We will do our best to find out ways in which we can help you to successfully complete this course.

Our CPD courses are variable in length but are usually 1 to 2 days in duration.
